10K gold

consisted of 41.7% pure gold and 58.3% alloy.

14K gold

consisted of 58.3% pure gold and 41.7% alloy.

18K gold

consisted of 75% pure gold and 25% alloy.

Yellow gold

A natural yellow gold that is mixed with silver and copper.

White gold

A gold alloy that is mixed with palladium, zinc or nickel.

Rose gold

A gold alloy that is mixed with copper, also known as pink gold.

Platinum

Silvery white metal and does not oxidize. This metal is also known as hypoallergenic.

Sterling silver

A silver alloy containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals, such as copper.

Palladium

A rare and silvery-white metal, highly resistant to corrosion. It is similar to platinum.

Anneal

Heat treatment process to reduce the hardness of a material.

Pickled

A liquid compound used to remove oxidation and flux after soldering.
